Australian design, global reach

Why architects and designers choose Woven Image

Woven Image isn't just a brand name on a panel. It's the company that invented the modern PET acoustic panel category — the product that almost every competitor has since tried to copy.

Founded in Sydney in 1987 and pioneering EchoPanel in 2004, Woven Image has spent nearly two decades refining what a PET acoustic panel can be. This page is the case for why the original still matters.

Pioneers since 2004

They invented the PET acoustic panel

In 2004, Woven Image released EchoPanel® — the world's first commercially available 100% PET acoustic panel. Before that, acoustic treatment meant fibreglass, mineral wool, or fabric-wrapped assemblies. EchoPanel created a new category: a single-material, fully recyclable, visually architectural panel that could be specified as a finish, not just an infill.

Every PET acoustic panel on the market today — including every "cheaper alternative" — traces its design language back to that 2004 release. Woven Image spent the twenty years since building out the range: thicker variants, precision-cut patterns, embossed textures, and modular tile systems, each engineered rather than derivative.

The company is still Sydney-based, still Australian-designed, and now distributes across the Americas, Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the UK. Australian engineering, exported.

The Woven Image advantage

Six reasons the originals still win specifications

Cheaper PET panels exist. What they don't have is two decades of performance-testing, the colour library, the certifications, or the commercial-grade warranty. Here is where the difference shows up in the finished project.

Consistent acoustic performance

Every panel tested to AS ISO 354 / ISO 354 — the international standard for sound absorption. Spec numbers you can put in a tender document and defend.

Colour-through construction

Colour runs through the entire depth of the panel, not just the surface. A scratch, cut, or chamfered edge reveals the same colour — no white core showing through.

Dimensional stability

PET felt won't warp, sag, or absorb moisture. Installed in humid hospitality fitouts, coastal projects, and temperature-variable spaces without movement over time.

Industry-leading colour range

Up to 37 colourways on the flagship EchoPanel 12mm, with curated palettes across every sub-range. No other PET acoustic manufacturer comes close.

10-year product warranty

Backed by a decade-long warranty against manufacturing defects, fading, and delamination. Real commercial-grade longevity, not disposable.

Recycled, recyclable, certified

Up to 80% post-consumer PET, Carbon Neutral, Global GreenTag Level A, Declare Red List Free. Verified by third parties, not marketing departments.
