Decorative acoustic panels for walls and ceilings
Sound absorbing panels that read as a finished architectural surface, not as industrial treatment. EchoPanel® decorative acoustic panels are pressed from 100% PET felt with colour running through the full thickness, available in flat sheet, embossed 3D, sculptural 3D-formed and tile formats.
Used across commercial fitouts, hospitality, education, healthcare and residential projects to reduce reverberation, lower background noise, and lift speech clarity. Every range publishes weighted alpha (αw) sound absorption data.

Measurable sound absorption
Every range publishes weighted alpha (αw) values, tested to ISO 354. EchoPanel® sheet panels are tested at three install configurations: direct fix, 20mm air gap and 50mm air gap.
440+ colourways across the range
EchoPanel® 12mm alone comes in 37 colourways. The whole range covers fabric-like neutrals, deep saturated colours and considered architectural palettes.
AS 5637.1 Group 1 fire rating
EchoPanel® 12mm and 24mm are both certified AS 5637.1 Group 1, suitable for most BCA Class 5 and 6 commercial applications. The 9mm embossed range also holds Group 1.
Up to 80% post-consumer recycled PET
EchoPanel® 12mm is 80% post-consumer recycled. Climate Active Carbon Neutral certified. Global GreenTag GreenRATE Level A. Fully recyclable at end of life.
What "decorative" means in an acoustic panel
Acoustic panels have to do two jobs in any commercial or considered residential project: absorb sound, and look like they belong. The decorative acoustic panel category is the answer to both at once. Here is how that works in practice.
Decorative vs. industrial
Traditional acoustic treatment was utilitarian, fibreglass batts hidden behind fabric, or open-cell foam in studio rooms. Decorative acoustic panels do the same acoustic job (absorbing sound, lowering reverberation) but read as a finish, not as a treatment. The panel is the design element.
Sound absorption is the job
Decorative acoustic panels reduce echo and reverberation inside a room. They are not soundproofing, they do not block airborne noise from passing between rooms (that needs a denser wall assembly). They are the right product for any space where the room itself sounds too echoey, harsh or tiring: offices, restaurants, home theatres, podcast rooms, open-plan living areas.
Built into the architecture
The decorative panel range supplies sheet panels, embossed patterns, precision-cut designs, 3D-formed sculptural pieces and modular tiles. A specifier can pick the right form for the brief, flat sheet for a budget office fit-out, 3D-formed feature wall for a hotel lobby, tiles for a ceiling-grid retrofit, without changing the underlying acoustic system.
Performance is documented
Every range publishes sound absorption data. EchoPanel® 12mm direct fix is αw 0.30 (Sound Absorption Class D). The same panel installed over a 50mm air gap reaches αw 0.60 (Class C). Spec numbers you can put in a tender document and defend.
Six product families, one acoustic system
Every range is built on the same 100% PET felt platform. They differ in thickness, pattern, and form, the acoustic science underneath is shared. Pick the form that suits the brief; the performance characteristics are documented across the range.
Sound absorption performance, documented
Weighted alpha (αw) is a single value derived from the full sound absorption curve, tested to ISO 354 and weighted against a reference contour. Higher means more absorption. Class A is maximum; Class E is minimum.
αw values tested to ISO 354 and weighted to ISO 11654. The MH (mid/high frequency) shape indicator is published on the underlying test reports. Air-gap configurations assume consistent cavity depth per published test setup.
Fire, indoor air quality and sustainability
Decorative acoustic panels need to do more than absorb sound. They need to comply with fire requirements for the building class, contribute to (not detract from) indoor air quality, and deliver on the sustainability credentials the project is pursuing. The EchoPanel® range is certified across all three.
- Fire performance. EchoPanel® 12mm and 24mm are certified AS 5637.1 Group 1. The 9mm embossed range carries a BRANZ Group 1 classification. Ascent Tile is AS 5637.1 Group 3. Full test report library available on request, including AS 1530.3, ASTM E84, BS EN 13501-1 and BS EN 45545-2.
- Indoor air quality. EchoPanel® 12mm holds Intertek Clean Air Gold and Low VOC certification. Suitable for occupied commercial and residential environments with no off-gassing or indoor air quality penalty.
- Sustainability. EchoPanel® 12mm is 80% post-consumer recycled PET. Climate Active Carbon Neutral certified. Global GreenTag GreenRATE Level A. Declare Red List Free. Recyclable at end of life.

Where decorative acoustic panels go
Decorative acoustic panels are most often specified in spaces where the room is reflective, the acoustics matter, and the panel needs to read as a considered finish rather than a treatment after the fact.
